Independents Want Cooperation

Washington Post - 08/21/2012

While only making up around a third of the voting population this election Independent voters are being heavily targeted to both political candidates. While nearly all Independent voters  are "leaners" either to the right or left what sets Independent voters apart is their call for more cooperation between Democrats and Republicans. According to a Washington Post-Kaiser poll 7 out of 10 Independent voters want more cooperation not confrontation in the political system and many see the whole political system as dysfunctional.
