Latinos Continue to Support Obama

Latino Decisions - 08/27/2012

As the 2012 presidential election segues into the national conventions, according to the latest poll release from Latino Decisions Obama continues to maintain his lead amongst Latino voters. A couple of reasons for this is due to Obama's high favorable rating amongst Latinos as well as a majority of Latino voters 68% blame the economic recess on Bush with only 14% blaming Obama for the current economic situation. Additionally Obama continues to hold onto a high favorable rating with 74% seeing Obama as a favorable candidate compared to only 27% seeing Romney as favorable. Last, Latinos often feel that the Republican party in general does little to reach their demographic. Even amongst Latino Republicans, 57% feel that the Republican party does a poor job in attracting Latino voters because most feel that the party doesn't care about the issues closest to them.
