Obama Attacks Romney on Education

Washington Post - 08/21/2012

At an Ohio campaign stop President Obama began to riel up the young crowd by highlighting his education efforts and slamming Romney hard on his anti-education proposals. Obama hit Romney hard on education especially the proposed 20% cuts to education in Romney's proposed budget. Those type of cuts would leave around one million young adults without access to Pell grants, or leave them unable to afford higher education. Romney has come under scrutiny when at a campaign event he suggested to teens wanting to go to college to "borrow from your parents". Obama stated that not everyone has parents with money to loan for education. Obama also emphasized the efforts to keep student loan interest rates low, student loan debt now exceeds credit card debt in the nation. Obama ended the event by pressing for the college students to get out and vote, and while people will say that enthusiasm has drained amongst the young voting bloc that they have to prove them wrong.
