ID Laws May Have Major Impact In Swing States

Politico - 07/30/2012

An estimated 5 million voters may be impacted from the bombardment of legislation aimed to restrict voting by the November 2012 elections. These laws are being pushed hard in the crucial "swing states" and will most likely affect both young and minority voters. For instance an estimated 9.2% of voters in Pennsylvania do not possess a driver's license or government ID needed under the proposed law. Voters rights groups have begun to file lawsuits against some of these voting restrictions. The confusion surrounding what types of IDs are needed or allowed at the voting booth has created gottavote.org to help educate voters living in swing states about how the laws are changing and how they could potentially affect them on election day.
