Obama Leads Likeability, Romney on Economy

Gallup - 08/24/2012

A recent Gallup release shows the strengths of both candidates that may be contributing to the close election President Obama is holding the lead on terms of "likability", while many others feel Romney can best handle the economy. Obama leads likability by 23 pts over Romney and also leads in other sub categories that are related such as "cares about average Americans", "trustworthy", and "partisan minded". When the survey travels into government affairs Obama again holds leads in the areas of foreign affairs, energy, Medicare, taxes as well as healthcare. The key area where Romney has the upper hand is in the economy where he leads by 15pts over Obama. Despite Romney only leading in one area the overall national polls show that it is still an extremely close race only proving how vital the economy is to the 2012 election.
