Ohio Restores Early Voting

Talking Poins Memo - 08/31/2012

Today a federal judge has restored the early voting rights for individuals living in Ohio. The ruling will put in place three days of early voting before the election stating, "restoring in-person early voting to all Ohio voters through the Monday before Election Day does not deprive UOCAVA voters from early voting." "Instead, and more importantly, it places all Ohio voters on equal standing". Ohio early voting came under fire earlier in the 2012 Presidential campaign when Romney falsely accused Obama of attempting to deprive early voting for members of the military. The suit filed by the Obama administration was to guarantee early voting rights for all eligible Ohio voters.
