Poll Shows Most Oppose Ryan's Medicare Plans

Talking Poins Memo - 08/21/2012

In a Public Policy Polling survey 45% of respondents said that they oppose Paul Ryan's sweeping Medicare measures while 36% support the new proposals. Ryan's Medicare plan would fundamentally alter how Medicare operates turning it into a private voucher system, when the PPP survey shifted to more specific language regarding Ryan's Medicare voucher program it grew even more unpopular. Only 19% said they would support a voucher system for elderly Americans and 63% said they would oppose such a voucher system, only 29% of Republican respondents stated that they support the Ryan voucher system.
