Senate to Vote on Benefits for LGBT Workers

Washington Post - 05/16/2012

Joe Lieberman has finally managed to push a bill addressing benefits for partners of LGBT federal workers into the Senate. This comes just a week after the historical endorsement of same-sex marriage by President Obama. The benefits include allowing for emergency leave to care for a partner, as well as allowing a partner to recieve retirement benefits if their partner were to pass. The bill faces a tough battle through the Republican controlled house.
