Texas Voter ID Law Struck Down

CNN - 08/30/2012

A Federal Appeals court in Texas has struck down the controversial voter ID law that was signed by Governor Perry. The court quoted that the law would place a large and disproportionate burden on minority voters especially the large number of Hispanic and African American voters residing in Texas. The three judge panel who made the ruling also noted that their decision will only influence Texas law and will not impact states that already have voter ID laws or states that are also going through the process of getting voter ID laws approved.
