Voter Registration Keeps Obama Afloat in North Carolina

Since April, more than 250,000 new voter registrations have been registered in North Carolina. That's more new voters than the Obama campaign has registered anywhere else in the country.

Julie Pace of Associated Press calls this an 'eye-popping' total of new registered voters in a state Obama only won by 14,000 votes four years ago. These new voters could keep North Carolina in Obama's reach during a time when Romney fares well there, and also when the president seems to be at odds with black voters in the state over his embrace of gay marriage.
