Kerry's Prime Time Speech Sparks Speculation

The Hill - 09/04/2012

John Kerry is set to be giving a speech highlighting the president's national security record on Thursday night and the subject and time frame now have political pundits pondering if this is an interview to become the next Secretary of State. Hilary Clinton has stated that regardless of the election turnout she would step down from the position. Kerry currently is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and has been rumored to be after the Secretary of State position for quite some time. Perhaps if he makes a winning speech on Thursday the job could be his.
