Why Romney is Still in Nevada

Mitt Romney campaigned in Nevada for the second straight day, hoping to gain the support of voters in this key Western battleground state and convince Silver State voters that the president's cause is fizzling.

To win Nevada's six electoral votes, Romney advisers say the GOP candidate must overperform in Nevada's Washoe county, which broke for Obama by 12 points in 2008 but is traditionally more of a swing county. A strong performance there would be necessary to counteract the union-backed Democratic machine in Clark County, home to Las Vegas, and the state's largest population center.
